Verfolgt castle

The permanent lair of the Clan of the Winding Wood, Verfolgt Castle is a large, ancient building that houses countless dragons. Some are residents, while others are merely merchants or passers by. The Clan also owns a great deal of the surrounding woodland territory, which is kept under tight security.

1) Takkun's Court- An old religious temple that has been repurposed for Takkun's home and court. The Imperial dwells on a balcony overlooking the ground floor, with his regents Onodera and Sayaka in thrones below. Along the sides of the building on the second floor are rows of old religious books, and in the basement of the building lies the Clan's treasure horde.

2) The Tower- A large tower that used to be the residence of a powerful wizard that has six floors. The ground floor is a guard's room, the second and third floors unoccupied living quarters, the fourth a large library, the fifth an empty aviary, and the sixth an observatory. Below the ground are three other floors, the first down a kitchen, the second a laundry room, and the third a servants quarters.

3) The Coliseum- A large wooden coliseum that used to house magical tournaments and fights, now the home of the Clan's residential circus. They perform their acts in the center while patrons watch excitedly from the stands

4) The Market- An old marketplace that has been completely renovated by the Clan. It is an impressive trade hub where castle residents and out of town vendors can set up their shops and market their wares to patrons.

5) The Kitchen- A huge kitchen made to support a castle's worth of residents. Now the area is used for storing the clan's food supply and for preparing foods for storage or consumption.

6) The Brewery- Once an old brewery, this building is now used by one of the clan's more specialized artisans. The vats that were used to make drinks now brim with bubbling concoctions brewed up by the residential alchemist. A strange haze is always billowing from the lone smokestack atop the building.

7) The Garden- A thickly overgrown bramble patch that used to be a beautiful garden. In the very back lies a pool with a natural spring bubbling up from the ground, though few have ever ventured into the thicket to gaze upon it.

8) The East Wood- Thick, dark woods full of sprawling brambles and huge luminescent mushrooms. Dragons who cannot find solace within the walls of the castle take up their homes here, living as wild as the creatures of the woods themselves.

9) The Ruins- The remains of what used to be a clairvoyant's sanctuary, now repurposed to serve a very dedicated cult within the clan's members. The cult members live in the ruins, using the clairvoyant pool for wild predictions and using the hallucinogenic properties of the mushrooms they cultivate for so-called religious experiences.

10) The Gatehouse- A fairly overlooked but important structure in the defense of the castle. The gate is always guarded, with no chance of any strangers wandering through unnoticed.
